The preparations for The Festival of Stitch are well underway, and we caught up with our guest bloggers, the Stitching Botanicals.
Stitching Botanicals are an enthusiastic group of textile artists and stitchers of all fibre types, who are hosted by and based at The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Llanarthne.
The many exciting projects explored by the group are plant inspired – Plant Pharmacy Patchwork, Fungi in Fibre and South Africa in Bloom which can all be seen at The National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Stitching Botanicals and The National Botanic Garden of Wales are supporting Swansea Festival of Stitch 2016 with their Textile Street art representation of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, which will be on display in the garden of Swansea Museum.
Wonderful giant climbing roses, ivy, enormous poppies and many other flowers are being created – watch this space!
The Museum is open 6 days a week from Tuesday through to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission.
The Festival of Stitch takes place this August throughout Swansea. Check out the event for more information on everything that’s happening!
