YET MORE world-class stars are joining the line-up for BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend in Swansea next month.
On the heels of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, Florence + The Machine and US star Demi Lavato have been added to a stellar set of performers heading for Singleton Park on May 26 and 27.
Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Major Projects, said the addition of yet more big names was a huge coup for the city.
He said: “Swansea was the first to sell-out its event because of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. Now we are welcoming a truly incredible line-up that includes yet more major chart-topping stars.
“BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend really is going to be a huge event and we are thrilled Swansea has been chosen as its epicentre.
“With around 30,000 people attending both days it’ll be a great opportunity for us to showcase our city and for businesses to take advantage of the moment.
“The music from Swansea is going to be broadcast around the UK and internationally so it’ll be a fantastic opportunity for us as Wales’ city of culture to reach new audiences.
“This announcement comes just 24 hours after we sealed the deal with world-renowned theatre management group ATG for a long-term lease to run the new digital Indoor Arena in the city centre.
“Together they are really making people sit up and take notice of what Swansea is capable of offering.”
