The Effect, a play written by Lucy Prebble (Secret Diary of a Call Girl, ENRON) is being performed in the Volcano Theatre in Swansea on the 28th February and the 1st of March 2019.
The Effect is a clinical romance. Two young volunteers, Tristan and Connie, agree to take part in a clinical drug trial. Succumbing to the gravitational pull of attraction and love, however, Tristan and Connie manage to throw the trial off-course, much to the frustration of the clinicians involved.
This funny, moving and perhaps surprisingly human play explores questions of sanity, neurology and the limits of medicine, alongside ideas of fate, loyalty and the inevitability of physical attraction.
Directors James Beaumont and Lewis Israel said “We are so thrilled to be able to show audiences what our cast have worked so hard on. We are confident that the people of Swansea will love this funny and powerful play, as audiences have in its many productions across the globe.”
Tickets will cost £9 on the 28th Feb and £10 on the 1st March and door will open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. All tickets are available on the door, or you can pre-book your tickets via Shoreline Theatre’s Students Union page
