On our busiest weekend we are so lucky to be have a wonderful group of Makers and Traders for our Market at the National Waterfront Museum, all with distinct Welsh flavour.
Willow Moon Cottage: www.facebook.com/Willowmoon.Cottage.Crafts/ make cases for phones, glasses and tablets which are that little bit different – think quirky prints of birds, animals and plants.
Henbethau: henbethau.co.uk make the most exquisite bears, elephants and other toys from Welsh blankets, beautiful, special heirloom pieces.
Holly Hart: www.facebook.com/hollyharttextiles Holly makes one of a kind textile and paper artwork pieces that capture the beauty and character of the natural world.
Mandy Nash www.facebook.com/mandy.nash.56 will be representing Area 12 of International Feltmakers Association, Mandy is an established maker whose passions are colour, pattern and technique and this can clearly be seen in her jewellery and felt accessories/hangings.
Catrin Saywell www.catrinsaywell.co.uk Catrin’s work is bold and exuberant and ranges from lampshades to smaller items such as bags, purses, hair-bows and cards.
Mabli Jack www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MabliJack Ruth focuses on making bags and accessories from British felt and linen and very cute Welsh ladies on home accessories.
Natasha Morgan: www.etsy.com/uk/people/NatashaMorgan Natasha is an Art Doll Maker and each doll is an original, she also makes charming ‘podgy patchwork dolls’ and ‘art doll applique quilts’.
Pat Johnson: www.patjohnson.co.uk Pat is a very well-known local felt artist and uses the just finest merino wool, olive oil soap and water to make wonderful textured handbags.
Sew Lovely of Penarth: www.sewlovelypenarth.com will show the unique work of the owner Carol Bartlett, who recreates scenes in a mix of vintage fabrics, laces and trims pulled together with hand machine embroidery.
Miss Clementine: www.facebook.com/vintagemissclementine Miss Clementine turns forgotten and discarded textiles, threads and household items into beautiful decorative pieces of art.
Traders Karen’s Quilts: www.karensquilts.co.uk Karen is joining us from mid-Wales and she will be bringing fabric ready cut for quilting. Karen has her own design quilt kits too, and these are a great way to start your quilting journey.
Fiery Felts: www.fieryfelts.co.uk Helen Melvin is based in North Wales and she uses all-natural dyes to create her felted fibres. Helen also creates botanical inks that can be used for colouring fabric as well as papers.
Treskilion Yarns: www.triskelion-yarn.com Treskilion are based in Carmarthenshire, their yarns are kettle-dyed, giving a vibrant, exciting range of fibres. The colours of the yarns are deep intense shades and are sure to delight the knitters out there.
Flying Goose Quilting www.flyinggoosequilting.co.uk are a husband and wife team from Llandeilo who are bringing a wonderful selection of quilting and sewing fabrics.
Happidashery is based the Model House, Llantrisant a great quilting destination. Lots of materials and items for the quilting fans here, and hopefully lots of haberdashery for the rest of us to get excited about.
White Gecko Craft Lounge: www.whitegeckocraftlounge.co.uk travel to all the big shows such as The Knitting and Stitching in London and the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. They will have fabric by the metre and special quilter packs.
Helen Rhiannon: www.helenrhiannon.com Helen not only runs a fabric shop and classes under the name of All Sewn Up Wales but is designer who has dressed famous celebrities. As well as fabrics, Helen has kits for a range of engaging animals.
Heartfelt 2 Inspire: www.heartfelt2inspire.co.uk Rachel and Katrina are Heartfelt 2 Inspire and are based in the Neath area. They have lots of lovely felting fibres and fabulous kits.
Gower Yarns: www.goweryarns.co.uk are based in Skewen, they have a huge range of textile goods with something for everyone. A mention for Rosa Threads, Rosa sell embroidery threads, particularly the very versatile Coton a Broder available in lots of lovely colours.
We are also happy to have Mike from Cliffords Sewing Machines www.facebook.com/Cliffords-Sewing-Machines-Ltd-461134860757868 who will be bringing some machines and demonstrating too!
