We’ve cleared the prom after last weekend’s Wales Airshow in Swansea. But, the big debate amongst the team continues over which is the best display – the Red Arrows or Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Yes, the Red Arrows are always spectacularly fast and nimble, representing the speed, agility and precision of the RAF with their crowd-thrilling transonic aerobatic displays. However, the team will be flying their distinctive Hawk jets, capable of such feats.
Whereas, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (proudly sponsored by GWR, Wales Airshow’s official rail partner), with its planes from World War Two, the Hurricane and Spitfire fighters alongside the majestic Lancaster bomber, hark back to the famous battle when never “was so much owed by so many to so few”. Each display of these British belles fittingly commemorates those who have fallen in the service of this country.
Anyway, knowing the team would be split down the middle we took to the ground displays of Wales Airshow armed with our vibe box – a binary choice made using a simple box and coloured balls – to ask people what they think.
