Singleton Park is set to host singing stars Alfie Boe, Collabro, Rebecca Ferguson and Sophie Evans this summer, for an evening of music.
The day after Paolo Nutini will rock the park – June 21 – Mal Pope will compere the entertainers for Summer in Singleton, a one-day music spectacular.
Speaking ahead of the event’s confirmation, headliner Alfie Boe, the biggest selling British tenor who led the cast of Les Misérables and stole the show at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace, said, “It’s always a joy to perform in Wales, the audiences there are great and love good music with a passion. Looking forward to my return to Swansea.”
Promoted by Orchard group, the company which brought Kings of Leon and JLS to the Liberty Stadium, it is hoped that Summer in Singleton’s range of theatre, operatic and blues tunes will bring a diverse audience to the park.
Councillor Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: “This weekend of fantastic live music is one of the highlights of our new Enjoy Swansea events programme. It’s a vote of confidence in Swansea as a leading city of events that we’ve been able to work in such close partnership with The Orchard Media and Events Group to bring live musicians of this quality to a stunning setting like Singleton Park. The diversity of the performers over the two days will appeal to a range of different musical tastes.”
