Recently completing a two-year spell playing Glinda in the hit West End musical, Wicked, Sophie will be delighting audiences with her wonderful vocals at BBC Proms in the Park when it returns to the city’s Singleton Park on Saturday 14 September.
In 2010, Sophie came to prominence when she appeared on the BBC television series, Over The Rainbow. Although a runner-up in the show, she clearly made an impression as Andrew Lloyd Webber subsequently selected Sophie to don the legendary ruby slippers and play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.
Sophie will be getting back into character to ‘melt troubles like lemon drops’, performing Popular (Wicked) and Over The Rainbow (Wizard of Oz) with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales conducted by Robert Ames.
In a nod to the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Sophie will also be singing World in Union, which is set to music from The Planets by Gustav Holst.Book Tickets Now
