The Daffodils are out and there’s a more than a hint of spring in the air in Swansea Bay! Our budding events calendar has also started to grow and there’s a whole bunch of events and activities going on in Swansea Bay this March.
This weekend sees Mother’s Day. Scratching your head for ideas for things to do? Then why not take your mum to to the Ultimate Mother’s Day lunch at The Brangwyn. The Mothering Sunday event includes a stunning four course lunch, kids areas, glass of bubbly for the Mums and live performances from both Britain’s Got Talent finalists “Only Boys Aloud” and also X-Factor’s Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw!
Those of you who like to keep in shape, why not get fit and raise money at the same time!? The Sainsburys Sport Relief mile takes place on Sunday the 20th of March at Blackpill Lido and needs local people to come together and make themselves proud by entering. Not to mention the variety of activities and facilities on offer at each of our Active Swansea Leisure Centres.
For young book worms, World Book Day on March 3rd offers the chance for Schools and nursery groups to get involved with a day of activities at the Dylan Thomas Centre. The Centre will also be running a range of workshops for all ages throughout the month. Check out their venue page for a comprehensive list.
Welsh Festival Aberdewi returns to Swansea City Centre this Saturday from 10:00am. Enjoy live music performances, the Parade, and help celebrate our great fortune of living in our modern Wales, with its Culture, Language and diversity.
The Grand Theatre has a packed bill this march headlining with psychological illusionist Derren Brown. The BBC National Orchestra of Wales are back at The Brangwyn for another amazing night of music on 11 March. View all of the performances coming to The Brangwyn this March here.
Swansea Museum continues to host the fascinating Swansea and the Great War exhibition which give a terrific insight into what life was like during war. The South Wales Scribes are also delighted to welcome the Letters After Lindisfarne volumes for their first showing in Wales. View a list of all Swansea Museum events here.
Finally if you’re a budding creative, this month’s Artist in Residence at Glynn Vivian Offsite at the YMCA is Cheon Pyo Lee plus there’s the usual Saturday Family workshops and Black Kettle collective.
