3 – Pay Santa a visit and pick up some stocking fillers at the city centre Christmas markets
The popular green and red wooden chalets have made a welcome return to the City Centre with over 40 traders will arrive offering the best choice of arts, crafts, handmade gifts, fine foods, unique and personalised decorations and so much more.
Santa has also taken up residence in his Grotto on Portland Street and will be there until 21 December to grant Christmas wishes and spread festive cheer. On Saturday 17 December, Santa’s reindeer will be flying in. Come and meet them on Oxford Street from 11am until 3pm.
4. Enjoy a Classical Christmas
Carols by Candlight
Established as one of the highlights of the musical calendar; this is a firm family favourite. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie as an appetiser to a feast of seasonal favourites served up by Alwyn Humphreys with Ros Evans, the Chamber Orchestra of Wales Chorale and accompanying musicians.
Handel’s Messiah
Messiah, Handel’s seasonal favourite oratorio, features such well loved choruses as For Unto Us a Child is Born and the famous Hallelujah Chorus, is performed this year by Swansea Philharmonic Choir, led by Jonathan Rogers and accompanied by soloists including Swansea-born soprano Céline Forrest.
5 – Enjoy two great Pantos
