The Glynn Vivian reopens on Saturday 15 October and to mark the start of the opening weekend celebrations, the Gallery has been working with seven artists to prepare a grand Opening Parade and walking procession to welcome everyone back to Glynn Vivian and into the new building.
On Saturday 17 September, 12-4pm at the YMCA, we’ll be holding a special drop-in parade open day for members of the public and Swansea community to sign up to help complete costumes, banners, masks and props and to be part of the parade.
We are looking for up to 175 people to help us make a visual explosion of colour and sound in the city centre to welcome everyone back to the Glynn Vivian on Alexandra Road.
By taking part in the Glynn Vivian Opening Parade celebrations, participants will get the chance to be one of the first to enter into the new gallery and experience the new building for the very first time.
Glynn Vivian opens with a full weekend of free events and live music, on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October and marks the beginning of a new vibrant and inspiring art space for everyone.
Don’t miss your chance to get involved and help us celebrate the reopening of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery.
