The Funerary Culture of the Ancient Egyptians

• handle ancient objects from the Egypt Centre
• learn about the ancient Egyptian view of death and the afterlife
• explore the ritual and magical objects of the ancient Egyptians
The focus of this course will be the objects housed in the Egypt Centre. You will have the opportunity to handle several ancient artefacts and learn about Egyptian attitudes to death and the afterlife including: servant figurines, ritual and magical objects, mummification and coffins.
These classes are limited to 15 people per course and will not result in credits or assessments (they are for educational fun).
Cost £100, or £50 for active volunteers
10x 2 hour sessions
