Here are some tell tale signs you might be living in the Swansea Bay region…
1) You Loves A Good Gig (you do)
Well, we are right in the heart of Wales – land of song. We love music in Wales (we do), and we’ve got some great venues to enjoy it right here in Swansea. This year alone, Paolo Nutini, Alfie Boe, Proms in the Park and BBC National Orchestra will be dropping by. Check out Kev Johns getting carried away whilst helping out at the Brangwyn Hall.
2) Getting Wet is a Way of Life
We’re so lucky to have surfing hotspots and beautiful white sandy beaches on our doorstep. We take it for granted as a daily norm yet many people live far from the sea and only see it on rare holiday breaks. For those of you who you aren’t into the art of surfing, we bet you know what beaches to go to. And if you’re not riding the swell, you can always watch the wipeouts from the beach!
3) Ice Cream, It’s Kind Of A Big Deal
Yes that’s right, there’s nothing better than a walk in the sea air with a good old fashioned ice cream in one hand while you blow away the cobwebs. Whether you are having a romantic stroll, a family blast on the beach or some quiet solitude – ice cream is never far away. Here in Swansea, we’ve got a bit of a reputation for great ice cream and we are willing to bet that if you live in Swansea you are guilty of this tasty pleasure.
4) You are Never Short of Things to Do
There’s a lot to do each week across Swansea Bay whatever your bag. Obviously the great outdoors and its associated activities like surfing, canoeing and abseiling are on our doorstep, the prom, 85 parks and green spaces, historical attractions like Oystermouth Castle, Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea Museum plus Active Swansea leisure centres with over 100 classes every single week. We’ll cut this list short shall we or we will be here all day.
